08:23 AM EDT, 05/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Giyani Metals ( CATPF ) , developer of the K. Hill battery-grade manganese project in Botswana, on Monday said Jonathan Henry, Michael Jones, John Petersen and Nicola Spooner have retired from the board, effective May 24.
The board changes are part of the company's transition to becoming a manganese battery metals producer, Giyani said.
Mark Burnett will join the board as interim chair, but will step down at the next annual general meeting. Burnett is the director of mining investments at RAB Capital, a mining specialist investor in London. He has more than 12 years investing and corporate finance experience in Africa and North America. Burnett is also a non-executive director of Golden Metal Resources, which is developing critical mineral assets in Nevada.
Giyani's board has begun the process to identify new directors with specific expertise in EV battery product marketing, project financing and capital markets experience.
