Giyani Metals Nears Completion of Demonstration Plant in South Africa
Sep 29, 2024 12:42 PM

07:21 AM EDT, 09/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Giyani Metals ( CATPF ) , developer of the K.Hill manganese project in Botswana, said on Wednesday that it has almost completed the construction of its demonstration plant in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The company said it remains on track to commission the plant and produce up to 600 kilograms per day of battery-grade manganese in the fourth quarter.

The plant is in the detailed fit-out phase, with all modular process skids installed, Giyani said.

"The demo plant, to our knowledge, is the largest of its kind in the world, and offers Giyani many advantages that would not be available with other smaller or non-continuous facilities," President and CEO Charles FitzRoy said. "In particular, the continuous process flow of the demo plant will allow the team to target steady-state operations, and prove Giyani's ability to produce consistent battery-grade manganese to potential offtake partners, as well as the ability to satisfy offtake requirements."

Giyani's share price jumped 6.3% yesterday to $0.085 on the TSXV.
