12:54 PM EDT, 10/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Giyani Metals ( CATPF ) on Monday said it produced high-purity manganese at its demonstration plant in Johannesburg, marking a key milestone in advancing its K.Hill Battery-Grade Manganese Project in Botswana.
The company said the plant successfully yielded both high-purity manganese sulphate monohydrate (HPMSM) and high-purity manganese oxide (HPMO), providing flexibility to serve different battery chemistries.
The company said the results validate its processing flowsheet at a pre-commercial scale and will inform the definitive feasibility study, which is expected in 2025. Giyani plans to begin offtaker qualification trials soon, shipping product samples to potential customers as it works toward securing binding supply agreements.
Giyani said results from the plant will support its ongoing definitive feasibility study for the K.Hill project.
"With the successful production of both HPMSM and HPMO, we have demonstrated our dual product offering capability, placing us in a strong position to supply the dynamic and evolving chemical requirements of the battery and energy storage market," said Interim Executive Chair Nigel Robinson.
Shares of Giyani Metals ( CATPF ) were last seen up $0.01 to $0.08 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
