09:37 AM EDT, 06/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- GlobalFoundries ( GFS ) and ElevATE Semiconductor entered into a manufacturing partnership to produce high-voltage chips for commercial semiconductor testing equipment and applications for aerospace and defense systems, the companies said Wednesday.

The chips, designed by ElevATE, would be manufactured on GlobalFoundries' ( GFS ) 7HV technology platform at the GlobalFoundries ( GFS ) facility in Vermont, the companies said, adding they are working together to provide restart support and reestablish production of 7HV chips. Financial details were not provided.

With this new supply of 7HV chips, the companies said customers would not need to redesign their products using a different chip technology. The new supply will build upon the 7HV chips previously made at GlobalFoundries' ( GFS ) Vermont facility, the companies added.
