Oct 4 (Reuters) - General Motors ( GM ) has temporarily
halted truck and SUV production at two assembly plants in Texas
and Michigan because of impacts to its suppliers due to
Hurricane Helene, the automaker said Friday.
The Detroit automaker said production at Flint Assembly
and Arlington Assembly for all shifts had been canceled on
Thursday and Friday due to the hurricane's impact on suppliers.
"We are working with these suppliers to resume
operations as quickly and safely as possible for their employees
and communities, as we seek to minimize impacts on our plants,"
GM said in a statement.
GM builds the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon
and Cadillac Escalade at its Arlington, Texas plant and the
Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra at the Flint Assembly plant.
