BEIJING, Sept 24 (Reuters) - General Motors' ( GM )

China joint venture with SAIC said on Tuesday it

would offer time-limited discounts of up to 26% for its Buick

Envision Plus crossover.

The combustion model would be priced from 169,900 yuan

($24,060.38) compared with the previous sticker price starting

at 229,900 yuan, the joint venture said in a post on its WeChat

account.

China's passenger vehicle sales contracted in August for the

fifth consecutive month as petrol-powered car sales continued to

slump.
