(Reuters) -Uber ( UBER ) and General Motors ( GM )-backed Cruise said on Thursday Cruise will deploy its autonomous vehicles on the ride-hailing company's platform as part of a multi-year deal.
The partnership, which will be launched next year, will allow Uber ( UBER ) riders to choose a trip using a Cruise autonomous vehicle.
Shares of GM rose more than 1% in extended trading, while Uber ( UBER ) fell 3%.
Cruise agreed to recall nearly 1,200 robotaxis over hard braking issues, the U.S. auto safety regulator NHTSA had said earlier in the day, following a probe into the safety of their autonomous driving systems.
