Golden Matrix Unit Meridianbet Gets Sports-Betting License in South Africa

11:07 AM EDT, 06/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Golden Matrix Group ( GMGI ) said Thursday its Meridianbet Group unit received a sports-betting license in South Africa from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.

Meridianbet also received a manufacturer license that allows it to license its proprietary sports-betting software within the Western Cape region, Golden Matrix ( GMGI ) said.

The licenses effectively allow the company to operate online sports betting in South Africa.

Golden Matrix ( GMGI ) shares were down nearly 2% in recent trading.
