05:26 AM EDT, 07/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Goldman Sachs ( GS ) said late Tuesday it expects the group's 2025 stress capital buffer to be 3.4% following the announcement of the Federal Reserve's 2025 stress test results, resulting in a standardized common equity tier 1 ratio requirement of 10.9% starting Oct. 1.
The firm's current stress capital buffer set by the 2024 Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review cycle was reduced by 10 basis points to 6.1%, which, in turn, lowered the immediate CET1 threshold to 13.6%.
The Fed will confirm the final stress capital buffer for 2025 by Aug. 31, Goldman said.
Citing improved capital flexibility, Goldman said it plans to raise its quarterly dividend to $4.00 per share from $3.00, pending approval at the Q3 board meeting.
