11:12 AM EDT, 10/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) looks set to see a revenue boost next year from monetized artificial intelligence-powered search tools, Oppenheimer said in a client note e-mailed Monday.
While Google's ( GOOG ) AI push could be a near-term revenue headwind as users shift to unmonetized AI Mode and AI Overviews, Oppenheimer analysts including Jason Helfstein see growth catalyst in the future from ads in both offerings.
Since last year's launch of AI Overviews, Google ( GOOG ) has revealed a dramatic shift in how people are using the search engine. During Alphabet's earnings call in July, Chief Executive Sundar Pichai said the company's AI features have prompted users to search more, with AI Overviews "now driving over 10% more queries globally," according to a FactSet transcript.
Earlier this month, Google ( GOOG ) rolled out AI Mode to more users globally, making it available in more than 35 new languages and over 40 new countries and territories.
"We believe (Google ( GOOG )) will see 2026 tailwinds from ads in AI Mode, while (the company is) beginning to expand ads in AI Overviews to more markets," Helfstein wrote.
Oppenheimer raised its price target on Alphabet to $300 from $270, keeping its outperform rating intact and saying it prefers the stock over Meta Platforms ( META ) .
"While we are positive on the long-term benefits from Meta's push into AI and proven ability to outgrow peers, we are more bullish on (Google ( GOOG )) near term, given more conservative estimates and lower valuation despite not fully monetizing AI Mode or AI Overviews," Helfstein said.
Oppenheimer lowered its price target on Meta to $825 from $870, while maintaining an outperform rating on the stock.
