Search engine major Google is replacing its top advertising executive, Sridhar Ramaswamy with Prabhakar Raghavan, head of Google’s business-applications unit, who will take charge on Friday, Bloomberg reported.

Raghavan is a veteran of search technology and artificial intelligence research and with the new responsibility, he will now oversee product and engineering for the company. Alphabet's Google is likely to generate more than $100 billion in sales this year, the report said.

"The ecosystem remains strong. The business remains strong. The team is fantastic," he told the agency. "My focus is on how to take that fantastic machine and keep it going rather than being a bull in a china shop," he added.

The 58-year old executive will make sure that Google's search pace of growth is maintained through display and operations. He is also responsible for developing new revenue sources and preventing commercial goals from influencing the company’s consumer services, said the report.
