Oct 8, 2018 8:15 AM

Google is set to launch its new set of smartphones on Tuesday at an event in New York City. The tech giant will unveil the Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL at it's annual “Made by Google” event.

You can watch the event live here.

Other than two phones Google is also expected to launch an official Google Pixel Watch that runs Wear OS, the new name for Android Wear.

The Google Pixel 2 started at a price of around Rs 61,000 and the Pixel 3 is expected to be slightly higher than its predecessor. Pixel 3 will be available in three color options — Just Black, Clearly White, and Not Pink.

A leak revealed that Pixel 3 will have a 5.5-inch display along with a resolution of 2160×1080 and 2:1 aspect ratio. The battery capacity is said to be 2,915 mAh, up from 2,700 mAh of Pixel 2.

The phone is expected to have two front-facing cameras with each 8-megapixel sensors, while the rear camera comes with 12.2MP sensors.

Pixel 3 is likely to use an octa-core Qualcomm chipset, an Ardreno 630 GPU, and have 4GB of RAM.

It is supposed to have a Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is clocked at up to 2.8GHz and paired with a choice of 64GB or 128GB of storage, but no microSD card slot.

Pixel 3 XL will be slightly bigger than Pixel 3 with a resolution of 2960×1440 and comes in at 6.7-inches. Other specs of Pixel 3 XL are going to be nearly identical to those of the Pixel 3, like previous years.

Both the phones will come with the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, Android 9 Pie.
