Google to Roll Out AI-Powered Image Generation of People

01:05 PM EDT, 08/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) said Wednesday it has launched a feature to customize Gemini into personal AI experts and will roll out a feature to generate images of people in the coming days.

The early access version of image generator will be available in English for Gemini Advanced, Business and Enterprise users, according to the blog.

The company also plans to launch its latest image generation model Imagen 3 to these Gemini iterations and expand its availability across all languages.

Google's ( GOOG ) previous version under fire earlier this year for generating culturally inappropriate images. However, this time it assured the upcoming version has capabilities that comes with "built-in safeguards and adhere to our product design principles," and the customer remains "in control of the creative process" from start to finish.

Alphabet shares were down 1% in recent trading.
