Govt tweaks licence conditions for telcos; says companies can buy equipment from only 'trusted sources'

The government has amended the licence conditions rule for India's telecom industry. Starting June 15, telecom companies can only procure equipment from a list of "trusted sources."

The government has tweaked licence conditions and will have the power to impose riders on the basis of defence and national security.

CNBC-TV18's Ashmit Kumar decodes the new rules and its implications.
