07:41 AM EDT, 05/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Grab (GRAB) and its rival GoTo in Indonesia faced disruptions to their ride-hailing and delivery services Tuesday as drivers held protests in key cities to demand a bigger share of the fees and over other issues, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday.
Protesters also opposed a planned merger between Grab and GoTo, expressing concerns that the combination would create a monopoly, lead to layoffs, and result in "predatory prices" for consumers, Reuters reported Tuesday.
The protests were held in Jakarta and other cities including Surabaya, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Semarang, according to the report.
Grab did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
