12:35 PM EDT, 10/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Gran Tierra Energy ( GTE ) said Monday that its planned acquisition of i3 Energy has been approved by the UK energy company's shareholders.

The approval meets one of the conditions needed to finalize the proposed cash and share deal, Gran Tierra said, adding the transaction still requires regulatory approvals.

The acquisition is expected to be completed around Oct. 31, Gran Tierra said.
