05:07 PM EDT, 08/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Granite Construction ( GVA ) said late Tuesday it secured a roughly $45 million contract to reconstruct and modernize the John Wilkie Safety Roadside Rest Area along the Interstate 40 corridor.

The project, awarded by the California Department of Transportation, is expected to start next month, with completion scheduled for January 2026, the company said.
