07:29 AM EDT, 08/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Granite Point Mortgage Trust ( GPMT ) said Monday that Blake Johnson has been named chief financial officer, effective Dec. 1.

Johnson will join the company no later than Oct. 28 as deputy CFO before assuming the CFO role, the company said. He will succeed Marcin Urbaszek, who is stepping down to pursue another opportunity with a global financial institution, the company said.

Johnson previously served as Granite Point's controller and currently serves as acting chief accounting officer of Two Harbors Investment ( TWO/PA ) .

Granite Point shares were up 1.6% in premarket trading.
