04:45 PM EDT, 10/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Green Plains ( GPRE ) said its subsidiary, Birmingham BioEnergy Partners, completed the sale of its unit train terminal in Birmingham, Alabama, to Lincoln Terminal Company.

The proceeds, the size of which was not disclosed, were used to repay the outstanding balance of the Green Plains Partners term loan due July 20, 2026.

"This transaction further strengthens our balance sheet and helps us to achieve the simplification and cost savings we anticipated after the buy-in of Green Plains Partners in January," Chief Executive Officer Todd Becker said late Tuesday.
