Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste Says Overall Passenger Traffic Rises 4.8% in February
Mar 6, 2024 2:43 PM

05:30 PM EST, 03/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) Wednesday night said passenger traffic at its airports rose 4.8% during February, rising to 5.8 million passengers last month compared with 5.5 million air travelers during February 2023.

International traffic was responsible for February's year-over-year increase, rising almost 12% to 2.5 million flyers last month. Domestic traffic system-wide was little changed from 2023 levels at 3.2 million passengers, the airport operator said.

Domestic and international travel to and from the San Juan airport in Puerto Rico surged last month, rising about 12% year-over-year, although the domestic increase at San Juan was almost entirely offset by declines in domestic travel at most of the company's nine airports in Mexico and six facilities in Colombia, it said.
