09:10 AM EDT, 07/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Hafnia ( HAFN ) said Friday that its LR1 tanker, the Hafnia Nile, collided with a very large crude carrier in the South China Sea, resulting in a fire onboard.

All crew members were safely rescued, the company said, adding that it was coordinating with the Singapore Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre, and a salvor has been mobilized to support the response.

A full investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the incident, Hafnia ( HAFN ) said.

Hafnia ( HAFN ) shares dropped more than 2% in Friday premarket activity.
