Three analysts polled by Capital IQ expected 2.85 billion pounds.

Revenue for the nine months ended Sept. 30 was 8.47 billion pounds, compared with 8.54 billion pounds a year earlier.

Earnings for the period were 0.132 pounds per diluted share, up from 0.113 pounds a year earlier.
