09:12 AM EDT, 10/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Halliburton ( HAL ) said Thursday that, in a collaboration with Norway's Aker BP, it has executed the first operation using its enhanced remote operated control system and Optime tubing hanger orientation system in the Norwegian continental shelf.
Halliburton ( HAL ) described the feat as a "breakthrough" in subsea drilling for oil and gas, allowing the installation and orientation of a vertical Christmas Tree tubing hanger without umbilicals, tubing hanger orientation tools, or blowout preventer alignment equipment conventionally used in such operations.
The technology can potentially reduce the complexity and cost of offshore drilling, the oil services company said.
