Hawaiian Electric urges Hawaii Island customers to conserve electricity use
Apr 15, 2024 2:47 AM

April 15 (Reuters) - Hawaiian Electric urged Hawaii

Island's residential and business customers to conserve

electricity use on Monday to prevent the need for additional

rolling outages.

"The request for conservation is prompted by the

unavailability of several large generators. Hawaiian Electric's

Hill 5 steam unit tripped offline yesterday," the company said.
