06:27 AM EDT, 03/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- HDFC Bank's ( HDB ) part-time Chairman Atanu Chakraborty resigned Wednesday, citing governance and ethical concerns.

In his letter dated March 17, Chakraborty said certain practices over the past two years were not aligned with his values.

"Certain happenings and practices within the bank, that I have observed over last two years, are not in congruence with my personal Values and Ethics," he said.

However, according to CNBC, Interim Chairman Keki Mistry told investors the board received no evidence supporting those claims and denied internal discord.
