05:55 PM EDT, 04/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Hecla Mining ( HL ) said Monday preliminary figures show silver production rose to 4.19 million ounces in Q1, up 43% from 2.94 million in Q4 2023.

The company attributed the increase to Greens Creek's "strong" performance, increased output at Keno Hill and Lucky Friday reaching full production in March.

Hecla said it is on track to produce 17 million ounces of silver this year and 20 million by 2026.

The company produced 36,592 ounces of gold in Q1, down from 37,168 ounces in the previous quarter.
