11:18 AM EDT, 09/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Heramba Electric ( PITA ) said Thursday its Kiepe Electric unit has received an order from Vossloh Rolling Stock to equip 11 class DE 18 diesel-electric locomotives with its SmartHybrid battery drive.

Financial terms of the order weren't disclosed.

Kiepe Electric has already equipped more than 130 Vossloh Rolling Stock DE 18 locomotives with traction converters, the company added.

The SmartHybrid batteries can be charged with a diesel engine or an external power supply, the company said.
