Here are the first-look reviews of the new iPhones
Sep 13, 2018 12:44 PM

Apple Inc on Wednesday launched three new iPhones -- iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR -- at the Steve Jobs Theater in New York.

The iPhone XS and XS Max are upgrades to the iPhone X launched last year with the iPhone XS having the same 5.8-inch screen as before, the iPhone XS Max is Apple’s largest iPhone ever at 6.5 inches.

Various experts gave their first hand experience on the newly launched iPhones.

The iPhone XS Max is bigger than iPhone XS and both phones have identical specifications aside from their screens. The new portrait mode feature allows to adjust the bokeh after the shoot, reported Verge.

Both iPhone XS Max and iPhone XS displays are different in terms of size and resolution. The XS phone has the same 5.8-inch size, OLED tech, and 2436 x 1125 resolution as the iPhone X.

The XS Max takes the OLED screen to a 6.5-inch size, with a 2688 x 1242 resolution. Both have the same 458 ppi pixel density.

The iPhone XS is basically the iPhone X with a few enhancements like a better screen, improved camera and more powerful processor and the A12 Bionic. It also has louder stereo speakers, reported CNBC.

The 6.5-inch display on the iPhone XS Max is the largest Apple has ever included in an iPhone.

The iPhone XR doesn't have the dual-camera setup on the back. Also, while it has the same powerful A12 Bionic processor as the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, it has an LCD screen which is not as colourful and bright as the OLED used in the flagship devices.

The iPhone XS Max has the maximum screen which is 6.5 inches, and this is the biggest screen that Apple has ever squeezed into a smartphone, reported Engadget.

It's surprisingly light and looks like a phablet. Apple has also introduced phones with IP68 water and dust resistance to help protect the iPhone.

According to CNET, all three new phones have a new A12 Bionic processor that Apple claims is 15 percent faster than last year's A11 chip in the iPhone X.

In terms of camera, the iPhone XR has a single rear camera, the XS and XS Max both have dual rear camera slike the iPhone X.
