Here are the top smartphone launches in January 2019

As brands like Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi launched their flagship devices in the month of January, the smartphone industry in India is going to see an an exciting year.

The booming Indian smartphone market, which is the second-largest in the world after China, is led by Beijing-based Xiaomi and Seoul-based Samsung.

Here’s a list of mobile phones launched in January 2019.

Samsung Galaxy M Series

Samsung's Galaxy M10 comes with a 6.2-inch HD+ (1520x720 pixels) display and is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, with 2GB and 3GB RAM options. It is equipped with a dual rear camera with 13-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.9 aperture), 5-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide lens and comes with a 3,400mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy M20 features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (2340x1080 pixels) resolution and is powered by an Exynos 7904 processor with 3GB and 4GB RAM options. It has a similar dual-camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor and a 5,000mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy M10 is priced at Rs 7990 and M20 at Rs 10,990 in India.

Honor 10 Lite

It features a 6.21-inch full HD+ display and is powered by the Octa-Core Kirin 710 12nm SoC clocked with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU, while it further comes with 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB storage, expandable up to 256GB with microSD.

Honor 10 Lite sports a dual camera setup consisting of a 13 MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2 MP secondary sensor. For selfies, there is a 24 MP camera which has an f/2.0 aperture. Lastly, the phone packs a 3,400mAh battery.

Honor 10 Lite is priced at Rs 13,999 in India.

Huawei Y9

It is equipped with 16 MP+2 MP front dual camera and 13 MP+2 MP rear dual sensors and supports Artificial Intelligence (AI) intelligent scenario identification and optimisation.

The 16.7-million colour IPS LCD supports "Eye Comfort Mode" and the smartphone is packed with a 4,000mAh big battery. The device also includes Fingerprint 4.0 identification technology, extended storage and Simple Mode for elderly users.

Huawei Y9 is priced at Rs 15,990 in India.

Honor View 20

This smartphone has a 6.4-inch screen with a 19.25:9 aspect ratio and features a TFT LCD display with a full HD+ resolution of 2310x1080 with a 91.8 percent screen-to-body ratio. The phone is powered by the 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 octa-core SoC. It has two variants, 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage and the other with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

Honor View 20 is equipped with a 25-megapixel front-facing camera and 48-megapixel rear camera. The Honor View 20 is running Magic UI from the company based on Android 9.0 Pie and is powered by 4000mAh battery with support for fast charging (4.5V/5A).

Honor View 20 is priced at Rs 40,000 in India.

Redmi Go

It sports a 5-inch HD screen and also comes with 3,000mAh battery. The phone is equipped with an 8 MP rear camera with an LED flash as well as 5 MP front shooter. It is expected to have Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) operating system.

Redmi Go is priced at Rs 6,500 in India.
