09:04 AM EDT, 09/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Heron Therapeutics ( HRTX ) said Wednesday that the US Food and Drug Administration has approved its application for the Zynrelef extended-release solution, VAN.

The company said the new VAN would replace the current vented vial spike, simplifying aseptic preparation and reducing withdrawal time to 20 to 45 seconds.

It added that the container-like design could help improve safety, increase adoption, and ease the preparation process.

The application is expected to be launched in Q4.
