12:00 PM EDT, 04/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Hershey (HSY) said Thursday it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire popcorn brand LesserEvil.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to an earlier report from The Wall Street Journal, the deal could be worth around $750 million.

The acquisition will bring "additional manufacturing capabilities and capacity to meet growing consumer and retailer needs," Hershey CEO Michele Buck said in a statement.

The acquisition is expected to close later in the year, the company said.

HSY shares were edging 0.1% higher in recent trading.
