01:45 PM EDT, 09/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Hilton Worldwide Holdings ( HLT ) workers in Honolulu, Hawaii, have begun a strike over higher pay and fair staffing, joining hotel workers from Hyatt Hotels ( H ) and Marriott International ( MAR ) in two California cities, the Unite Here union said.
Around 2,000 union members working at the Hilton Hawaiian Village walked off their jobs Tuesday morning, bringing the number of union members now on strike at Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott ( MAR ) hotels to more than 4,000. These workers include housekeepers, cooks and servers, according to the union.
Hilton did not immediately respond to a request from MT Newswires seeking comment about the new walkout in Honolulu.
