01:57 PM EST, 01/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- HNI (HNI) said Thursday it will close its Wayland, New York, plant in 2027 and shift production to other North American facilities as part of its network optimization strategy.
The company expects the consolidation to deliver about $7.5 million to $8.0 million in annual savings, with total cost synergies from the Kimball International integration projected to reach $68 million by the end of 2028.
The consolidation is expected to result in about $14.9 million in pre-tax charges over 2026 and 2027, including $5.7 million in non-cash items, the company added.
Shares of HNI rose about 2.2% in recent trading.
