12:58 PM EDT, 05/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Home Depot ( HD ) should not be held legally responsible for failing to warn an on-duty Dallas police officer that a shoplifting suspect could've been armed, the Texas Supreme Court ruled Friday.

According to the court, Officer Rogelio Santander, who was attacked and killed by a shoplifting suspect, would be presumed to know of potential dangers in the line of duty.

Home Depot ( HD ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
