Jan 22, 2025 11:56 AM

02:42 PM EST, 01/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Home Depot ( HD ) announced new partnerships with Uber ( UBER ) and DoorDash's ( DASH ) delivery services on Wednesday, expanding its one-hour delivery options for home improvement shoppers.

Uber Eats and DoorDash ( DASH ) will join the home improvement retailer's existing third-party delivery partner Maplebear (CART) in providing deliveries in as little as one hour, according to Home Depot ( HD ). Home Depot ( HD ) will continue to provide same-day delivery directly through its website.

Maplebear does business as Instacart.

The service will be available to Home Depot's ( HD ) do-it-yourself and Pro customers across 2,000 stores through Uber Eats and DoorDash ( DASH ) apps.

"We've never been faster or more efficient at delivering the products our customers need through HomeDepot.com," Jordan Broggi, Home Depot's ( HD ) president of online operations, said in a statement. "Our expanded e-commerce capabilities make it easier than ever to shop and receive your order when and where you need it."

Shares of Home Depot ( HD ) slid 2% in afternoon trade, while Instacart's fell 3%. Uber's ( UBER ) stock edged higher, while DoorDash ( DASH ) was little changed.

Mike Goldblatt, DoorDash's ( DASH ) vice president of new verticals partnerships, said deliveries could cover items including nails, screw heads and drill bits. DoorDash ( DASH ) expanded the selection of products available on its app to include apparel, home improvement, and arts and crafts in 2024, it said.

Orders will also include gardening supplies, Uber ( UBER ) said in a separate statement. The partnership enables Uber ( UBER ) to serve consumers through delivery in "even more aspects of their lives," said Hashim Amin, Uber Eats' head of North American grocery and retail delivery.

Home Depot ( HD ) is scheduled to report results for the fiscal fourth quarter and full year on Feb. 25. For the third quarter, revenue rose 6.6% to $40.22 billion, while adjusted earnings per share dipped to $3.78 from $3.85.
