Homeland Security Secretary Noem says CNN may be prosecuted over report on migration app
Jul 1, 2025 8:54 AM

July 1 (Reuters) - U.S. Homeland Security Secretary

Kristi Noem said on Tuesday that she is working with the Justice

Department to see if CNN can be prosecuted for reporting on a

phone app that alerts users to sightings of Immigration and

Customs Enforcement agents in their area.

President Donald Trump said CNN may very well be prosecuted

for giving publicity to the app. Noem and Trump spoke to

reporters as they toured a migrant detention encampment in

Ochopee, Florida.
