Honda Motor Transfers ATV Production to North Carolina, Will Spend $21.5 Million on Factory Improvements

01:24 PM EDT, 08/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Honda Motor ( HMC ) said Tuesday it has moved its all-terrain vehicles, production to its plant in Swepsonville, North Carolina, and spend $21.5 million to upgrade the welding and painting operations at the facility.

The company added that the plant will be its first in North America to produce future electric powersports and power equipment.

ATV production was previously done at the company's plant in Timmonsville, South Carolina, which will now focus exclusively on producing side-by-side vehicles, the company said.
