Honda Recalls Over 65,000 US Vehicles Over Driveshaft Safety Risk
Jul 1, 2025 12:05 PM

02:47 PM EDT, 07/01/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Honda Motor ( HMC ) is recalling more than 65,000 vehicles in the US due to a safety issue that may cause them to roll away when parked.

The recall affects certain 2013 Accord models equipped with 4-cylinder engines and continuously variable transmissions. The driveshaft may corrode and break from exposure to road salt or other contaminants, the company said.

A damaged driveshaft could result in a loss of drive power or unintended movement if the parking brake is not engaged, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Honda ( HMC ) said dealers will inspect and replace the driveshafts at no cost to owners. Notification letters are expected to be mailed starting Aug. 11.
