In the last 20 days, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several new metro corridors across the country. The last 23 km north-south corridor of Lucknow Metro, the Dilshad Garden-Ghaziabad Metro route and Noida City Centre-Electronic City route for National Capital Region (NCR).

PM also flagged off the first runs of the Ahmedabad Metro, the Nagpur Metro and also green signalled the building of metro networks in Patna, Kanpur, Agra and also three more corridors for the Delhi Metro. Yes, we need green clean mobility for our rapidly growing cities, but does that automatically mean we must have larger metro networks across the country? To discuss this, CNBC-TV18's Manisha Natarajan spoke to the panel of experts.
