HPQ Silicon Up More Than 5% As Affiliate Novacium Reports Battery Result That Could Be Near a World Record
Jul 30, 2024 8:19 AM

10:44 AM EDT, 07/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- HPQ Silicon ( HPQFF ) was at last look on Tuesday up 5.2% after it announced the latest significant battery milestones achieved by its France-based affiliate, Novacium SAS.

Tuesday's announcement said the latest batch of batteries, made with a blend of graphite and Novacium's partially optimized third-generation (GEN3) advanced silicon-based anode material, has surpassed the average capacity of 4,030 milliampere-hours (mAh). It said this result is near the world record for 18650 batteries of 4,095 mAh. However, validation by a third party will be required before that title can be fully claimed, the company added.

"Based on the data gained to date, we strongly believe that we can continue improving our material so that a GEN4 material based 18650 batteries could exceed the 4,300 mAh mark," said Jed Kraiem, COO of Novacium
