HSBC cuts 40 dealmakers in Hong Kong ahead of restructuring, a source says

HONG KONG/Sydney (Reuters) - HSBC ( HSBC ) has laid off around 40 investment bankers in Hong Kong as part of the bank's global restructuring, according to one source with direct knowledge of the matter.

The job cuts took place on Monday, two sources said, ahead of the bank releasing its full-year results on Wednesday.

HSBC ( HSBC ) declined to comment.
