HSBC to Sell Retail Banking Business in Sri Lanka

05:36 AM EDT, 09/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- HSBC Holdings ( HSBC ) said Wednesday it agreed to sell its retail banking business in Sri Lanka to Nations Trust Bank.

HSBC ( HSBC ) said the move doesn't impact its corporate and institutional banking business in Sri Lanka.

The deal is expected to close in H1 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, the company said.
