Hudbay Minerals Resumes Operations at Constancia Mine in Peru After Protest-Related Shutdown
Oct 7, 2025 5:25 AM

07:56 AM EDT, 10/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Hudbay Minerals ( HBM ) said Tuesday it has restarted operations at its Constancia mine in Peru following a temporary shutdown due to local protests and 'illegal blockades.'

The company said it suspended operations last month to ensure worker safety while authorities addressed the unrest.

The mill is now back at full production, and the workforce is expected to return to normal levels in the coming days, the company said. It added that preventive maintenance was carried out during the downtime.

Despite the disruption, Hudbay said it remains on track to meet its 2025 production and cost guidance.
