04:02 PM EST, 11/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Huntington Ingalls Industries ( HII ) said its Newport News Shipbuilding division delivered the Virginia-class submarine Massachusetts (SSN 798) to the US Navy.

Massachusetts is the 12th Virginia-class boat delivered by the yard and the 25th built under an agreement with General Dynamics Electric Boat, part of General Dynamics ( GD ) , HII said Friday in a statement.

Separately, the company said its Ingalls Shipbuilding division completed acceptance trials for the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer Ted Stevens (DDG 128). The Navy's inspection board oversaw the tests, which confirmed the required mission capabilities ahead of delivery in the coming weeks.
