12:52 PM EDT, 10/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Huntington Ingalls Industries' ( HII ) mission technologies unit won a $3 billion contract from the US Department of Defense and its partners to bolster strategy aimed at improving communications among military branches and making quick decisions to enhance national security.
The Logistics Services, ISR Operations and Next-Gen Technology task order aligns with the department's Joint All-Domain Command and Control, Huntington Ingalls said Thursday in a statement.
The company said it performed similar work under several contracts with the Navy and the Army for more than a decade.
Shares of Huntington Ingalls slumped 23% in recent Thursday trading. Earlier, the company reported Q3 earnings and revenue fell from a year earlier, surprising analysts.
