10:59 AM EDT, 09/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Hyliion ( HYLN ) said Monday it has been awarded a contract of over $15 million by the Office of Naval Research to develop the company's Karno generator for US Navy ships and stationary power applications.

After validation and demonstration, the generator may be used as a power system in future platforms to back naval operations, the company said.

The Karno generator is a linear generation system powered by heat, Hyliion ( HYLN ) said.
