Hyliion Says Karno Power Module Gets EPA Confirmation, Providing Regulatory Pathway for Market Deployment
Sep 16, 2025 7:34 AM

10:03 AM EDT, 09/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Hyliion Holdings ( HYLN ) said Tuesday that its Karno Power Module has received confirmation from the US Environmental Protection Agency that it is not regulated as an internal combustion engine under federal law and regulations.

This paves the way for the deployment of the Karno Power Module across stationary and mobile power generation markets, the company said.

The Karno Power Module will instead be mainly subject to local air permitting requirements for power generation installations, the company said.

The EPA's confirmation helps ensure effective regulatory compliance and enhances the efficiency of the permitting process for customers using the technology, Hyliion ( HYLN ) said.
