I&B ministry bats for new IT rules in Supreme Court; seeks regulation of OTT players

The Information and Broadcasting (I&B) ministry has batted in defence of the new IT rules. It has submitted a plea in the Supreme Court which seeks the regulation of OTT players like Amazon Prime and Netflix with a mechanism to check content.

The ministry has told the apex court that it is acting upon the complaints of certain chief ministers and members of parliament, reports Ashmit Kumar.
