09:50 AM EST, 01/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- IBM ( IBM ) early Thursday disclosed plans to acquire Applications Software Technology, a global consulting firm for Oracle (ORCL) cloud applications, including local government, K-12 schools and other public-sector clients.

Financial terms and other details of the purchase from private-equity investors Recognize Partners were not disclosed. Applications Software will become part of IBM's ( IBM ) consulting unit.

IBM ( IBM ) shares were nearly 1% lower in recent trading.
