10:19 AM EDT, 09/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- International Business Machines ( IBM ) said Tuesday it has expanded its consulting services to help clients optimize Oracle's (ORCL) cloud applications and "maximize generative AI investments" with an open, coordinated approach.

IBM ( IBM ) research predicts an 89% increase in compute costs by 2025, prompting its IBM Consulting business to expand its Oracle support network with consultants to help clients optimize AI use cases, maximize their return-on-investment, and reduce costs, IBM ( IBM ) said.

IBM ( IBM ) shares were up 0.3% in recent morning trade while ORCL shares were surging over 12% after the company reported fiscal Q1 results that improved year over year.
